Tewkesbury Tigers

Tewkesbury Tigers are the junior section of Tewkesbury Rugby Football Club. Tewkesbury RFC is an accredited England RFU and Gloucestershire RFU club and therefore operates within the RFU age-grade rugby guidelines as well as ensuring that the Club is run to a Sport England standard from coaching to our facilities.  Our aim is to ensure that all our players enjoy rugby in a safe environment where they can develop their personal and social skills as well as a wide range of transferable multi-sports skills.  You can find out more about the RFU age-grade rugby programme at England RFU

Tewkesbury Tigers train and play at the Moats, the home of Tewkesbury RFC, in the vicinity of Tewkesbury’s ancient Abbey.

We play in amber and black.

We aim to run teams in all age groups from U7 (year 2)  – U17/18. All players are welcome. Our players are mostly from local schools in the Tewkesbury area – we have a good relationship with both Tewkesbury Primary Schools and Tewkesbury Secondary School, but we welcome all players from the surrounding areas.  The teams meet on Sundays throughout the season and some age groups meet mid-week for extra practice.

Following the changes announced by the Government on Wednesday 9 September in relation to the ban on groups of more than six people meeting socially indoors and outdoors. Although social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from Monday 14 September, the Government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue. With the exception of clubs impacted by local lockdown restrictions, we remain at Stage D on the Return to Community Rugby Roadmap. The rugby community can continue to organise non-contact fixtures with other clubs using Ready4Rugby and other touch rugby activity.

Please see our Clubhouse page for more information about Track and Trace and face-coverings.
