Tewkesbury Tigers at Berryhill Tournament

An 8am start from Tewkesbury saw Tigers U11s going for their 1st ever tournament. With a helping hand from 4 Upton Players we headed off to Berry Hill.

We started the tournament with a brew and a bacon sandwich thanks to Byron and Steve(who spent the weekend there in caravans).

Our first game was against a well set up home team Berry Hill. The game ended 15-15 and gave us our 1st tournament point 🙂
Next up was Drybrook, after a very close game and 2 disallowed tries by Tewkesbury (unsure why) Drybrook got a late try 0-5
Malvern were next, we went into the 2nd half 10-0 up but a few mistakes meant we let them back in 10-10.
Our final game was against Dursley. The boys and Rebecca were well up for this and hit hard against them and won 15-0
we finished 3rd in our group and were well happy.
Defo going again next year.

Following the changes announced by the Government on Wednesday 9 September in relation to the ban on groups of more than six people meeting socially indoors and outdoors. Although social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from Monday 14 September, the Government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue. With the exception of clubs impacted by local lockdown restrictions, we remain at Stage D on the Return to Community Rugby Roadmap. The rugby community can continue to organise non-contact fixtures with other clubs using Ready4Rugby and other touch rugby activity.

Please see our Clubhouse page for more information about Track and Trace and face-coverings.
